So, your kitty needs a name. Cats can understand one syllable cat names easier than other, longer, more complex names. Also it makes it easier to call them.
Since cats don’t understand most of our complex words, giving them one syllable names is only appropriate. Although there are some very intelligent cat breeds that understand lots of human words, the simpler a word gets, the better cats understand it. So it is only appropriate to choose one syllable cat names when you are naming your little friend.
Our list of one syllable cat names is prepared under two categories:
- One Syllable Female Cat Names
- One Syllable Male Cat Names
Before you start reading our list, please have your phone or a piece of paper and pen ready to note the names you like as you read the list. When you note the names you like, you will have the chance to compare them in the end to pick your favorite cat name.
If you are more than one person who will decide the name of the cat, keep your separate notes and compare them after everybody finishes reading the list. This way, you can find a common name everybody likes and you all will be happy with the chosen name.
One Syllable Female Cat Names
Some of the female cat names here come from human names and some others don’t. Names such as “Grace” or “Jet” can reflect your cat’s character of physical traits so such names are also in our list of one syllable cat names.
