Just like humanity, cat world’s biggest issue nowadays is obesity however some cats just stay thin. For those skinny cats, we have skinny cat names.
Considering the high rate of obesity among cats, it gets harder and harder to see a skinny cat with every passing day. Of course you can give one of the skinny cat names to an overweight cat but the point here is that obesity can increase the mortality rate 2.8 fold which is nearly triple the normal mortality rate. I am not saying that a skinny cat is a healthy cat or it is not like I enjoy seeing a hungry stray cat but the according to Veterinarians Krista Williams and Robin Downing from VCA approximately 30-35% of all cats are obese.
There are numerous studies on feline obesity and most of these studies conclude that the obesity in domestic cats is human-related for the most part. On the other hand there are rescue cats we see on social media everyday who need medical attention due to being too skinny. I don’t want to be a pessimist so what I wish to focus here is that these rescued friends start getting their health back as soon as they are looked after properly.
For these little warriors or our chubby friends, skinny cat names might just be appropriate.
Female Skinny Cat Names
For female cats being underweight might hold greater risks because they need more energy especially when they give birth and need the extra nutrients to feed their kittens. If you have a skinny girl cat, you may want to take some extra precautions because they tend to run away and when they get back home, you may become a grandparent even if you are not ready for it.

Male Skinny Cat Names
Just like human beings, male felines need more calories for a healthy body compared to females due to their biology. Male cats tend to be thinner although they receive the same amount of food with their female counterparts. This is mainly due to the caloric needs of the muscles and organs in order to run efficiently. These caloric needs are different in males and females to the difference between their bodies.

Gender-Neutral Skinny Cat Names
Some cats look more skinny than others such as hairless cat breeds due to their lack of fur but the looks is not everything. A healthy cat should be in their ideal weight whether it looks chubby or not since a cat may be in just the right weight although it looks huge because of its long and fluffy hair.
These gender-neutral skinny cat names can be given both to skinny cats which is appropriate considering their physical traits or to overweight cats because they are fun names when they show contradiction.

No matter what you name your kitty, take the weight issue seriously as the obesity is a very serious issue in cats. It is actually more serious than human beings because average human life expectancy is nearly 4 times longer than average life expectancy of a domestic cat and even the little things may change the number of the years you will spend with your feline friend.
